This collection of over 10 new works, world premiers and associated performances was born from COVID inactivity, where Violinist Vov Dylan and Composer Elena Kats-Chernin found time to grow from musical friends to musical collaborators and in the process delving into the vast array of music that Elena has composed.

Renowned Australian Pianist Clemens Leske joined the project and together with Vov and Elena, a program of delightful, personal, playful and extremely musical vignettes was curated.

During the 2021 lockdowns, Vov, Clemens and numerous other guest performers were able to record these works. They have been recorded in extreme high definition and will be the first collection of works by an Australian Composer to be released in this format.

This collection is the first album of new music like this from Elena Kats-Chernin in over a decade and also marks the first artistic collaboration between Vov Dylan and Clemens Leske.

Enter Mary-Jess, the voice that adds a new dimension to their collaboration. As the winner of "The Chinese X Factor," Mary-Jess brings international acclaim and a beautiful soprano tone to the mix. Her role as the voice of Downtown Abbey adds an extra layer of versatility and international appeal to this ensemble.

"The Moon Represents My Heart," one of the most beloved Chinese songs of all time, originally introduced by Teresa Teng, takes centre stage in this collaboration.

The track is being released on the eve of their joint tour in Taiwan from December 14, featuring not only Vov, Glenn and Mary Jess, alongside Vov’s Palace Orchestra.

Set to stream on December 8 and presented by Ambition Entertainment, the single not only celebrates the trio's musical prowess but also pays homage to a cultural icon.

For the first time, Vov Dylan collaborates with acclaimed producer Michael Cristiano, amplifying the anticipation surrounding this release and marks the first of several releases in coming months from Vov Dylan and Glenn Amer celebrating music from China.

Mary-Jess, the English rose who won the "Chinese X Factor" live on Chinese TV to 70 million people. She performed the Downton Abbey theme song for the Official Soundtrack albums, and has also lent her voice to Marvel soundtracks. She was the first British woman to be accepted in to Lord Wei’s Diaspora Emerging Leadership Program in the House of Lords. After Mary-Jess performed at The GREAT Festival of Creativity in Shanghai, she was invited to Number 10 Downing Street where she was asked by His Majesty’s Government to become the next representative of ‘The GREAT Britain Campaign’ as an ambassador for UK music in 144 countries around the world.

The album is filled with some of the greatest love songs of the 20^th century from titles like Everybody Loves Somebody, La Vie En Rose, Blue Moon, The Way You Look Tonight, Someone To Watch Over Me, The Look Of Love and more!

A joyous celebration of music, this album is the ‘happiest’ of the albums as released by Vov Dylan to date, with music designed to make you swoon and sway and either fall in love to, or fall in love with again.

This album started being recorded in 2012 in the last months that Enzo Toppano was living in Australia before his move to Mexico. Starting with just Violin, Guitar (Brian Dean) and Double Bass (Mark Howard) Enzo came into the studio and recorded multiple melodies and countermelodies for every track, demonstrating all the way his never diminishing mastery of his instrument.

Sadly, these recording sessions were to be the last that Enzo would make where he passed away a short time after his move to Mexico in 2013.

Vov Dylan has spent the rest of this decade, building this album and its orchestrations with the view to not only produce an album that is a delight to listen to, but one that is a fitting tribute to Enzo Toppano.

Dear Listener,

During his lifetime, Enzo Toppano was one of the most celebrated piano accordionists and entertainers that Australia produced. An extremely humble man – to talk to him you would never guess of his extraordinary success both across the country and the globe, on TV, radio, the recording studio and on stage.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Enzo throughout the last 10 years of his life, where together we recorded three albums and did countless live shows. During this time I was able to marvel at his supreme mastery of his instrument and craft as an entertainer. We developed a bond of friendship that I hold dear to this day.

This album was started in 2012, where Enzo laid down many of these tracks during his last week in Australia before moving to Mexico. Since that time the album has slowly grown in production, and orchestration to what you hear now.

Enzo’s first piece of advice to me after our first show together was “Make sure you give the audience something to sing-a-long with”……… I hope we have done that and more with this album.
